No. 5 Chaska delivered the biggest upset of the state tournament, beating No. 1 and previously undefeated Tartan 70–61 in the Class 4A semifinals on March 26 at Williams Arena.

The win sent the Hawks to the championship game and ended Tartan’s perfect season. Tartan later took third place in overtime over Maple Grove.
